In accordance with the National Environmental Policy act (NEPA) of 1969, an Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared for the proposed FAR Part 139 Certification and Terminal Redevelopment Program at Washington Manassas Airport (HEF). On 7/30/2026 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a Finding of No Significant Impact/Record of Decision (FONSI/ROD) for the Redevelopment Program. The Final EA, inclusive of the FONSI/ROD, and the associated appendices are available below:
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policies and procedures, the FAA Washington Airports District Office announces that a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) has been approved based on the findings of an Environmental Assessment (EA) prepared for the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Replacement at Washington Manassas Airport (HEF). The Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) indicates that the Proposed Action is consistent with existing environmental policies and objectives as set forth in NEPA and will not significantly affect the quality of the environment.
